The Sunday Afternoons Traveler Hat is perfect for day trips and international adventure alike. Made with certified UPF 50+ breathable, water-resistant nylon sun fabric for ultimate protection. Ventilating mesh side panels provide cooling relief with the wicking brow sweatband keeps sweat out of your eyes. The 5 1/2" neck cape keeps the sun off your neck plus it contains a hidden zip/card pocket. The folding brim makes packing easy and it slips right into a convenient micro-fiber 'travel tote' (included). Unlike rigid hat styles, it unfolds to become a neat and presentable hat in an instant. The rear sizing band offers a custom fit. The chin strap with cord lock keep the hat in place on windy days. Hand wash, line dry. Lightweight: 3 ounces. First, and only, release on the Dread Broadcasting Corp label, this is a 12" single which celebrates the on-air presence of the Dread Broadcasting Corp, arguably the United Kingdom's first black radio station, which was forced off the airwaves for illegally broadcasting. This double sider dates from 1982. I have had to edit the A side slightly because of the 10 minute youtube time restraint. From wikipedia Dread Broadcasting Corporation (DBC) was a West London pirate radio station established in 1981. Also known as DBC Rebel Radio, it began partly as an attempt to brighten up boring Sunday afternoons, but also to increase the exposure of Reggae music. Its founder, DJ Lepke, having acquired a medium wave transmitter, broadcast from his Neasden back garden, but the weak signal only reached far enough to create a buzz in the vicinity. When an FM transmitter was finally placed into service the range broadened and regular transmissions began weekly on Fridays. DBC has been credited as Britain's first black music radio station, and eventually featured DJs like Neneh Cherry, LDR Dr.Watt and Ranking Miss P (Lepke's sister, now with BBC Radio). It provided an important outlet for reggae and showed the media establishment that community and specialist music could be at the heart of broadcasting.
